Lake Surf Season is starting

Postby Boydo » Mon Aug 23, 2010 3:29 pm

4-6 footers forecasted for Burlington/ Hamilton beach tonight. It is nothing huge, but definitely worthwhile to get out and test the Lake Surf if you are new to it, as it can get intimidating once the break starts to get up over 8-10 feet.

I am planning on heading out around 7:30 pm. The best spot is typically just south of the lift bridge, Beach Blvd in Hamilton.

Hoorah for hurrican season.

For the record, it was really good out there tonight.

When the tail end of Hurricane Katrina came through it was next to impossible to get out past the break but once I got the hang of it, and we were out there, it was awesome. These waves certainly weren't 4 - 6 feet. I have kept my eye open but haven't seen anything like it since.

Kincardine

the waves are over the break wall and are cresting the piers sometimes. The waves are very long though so I think you would need a long boat to catch them.
