CORE Paddles - Ottawa River test day

Postby blondie » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:16 pm

Initial testing of the new CORE WW paddles on the Ottawa this past weekend was a huge success. Thanks to the local crew
for giving up your day and providing me with the feedback. New paddles ROCK.

From what I can figure taking a couple strokes, this comparison can be made: It's a zero-flex version of the H20 Team paddle. I mean zero-flex like a Werner foam core carbon paddle... Big improvements all around

Tried it at Pushbutton for a surf (thanks Dave). I felt a tiny bit of flutter on the catch (maybe it's my technique), but was very impressed by how much water that blade pulls! I like the small diameter shaft+grip combination, and the paddle weight (lack thereof, in fact). Good job, Steve. --C.

I have used the Werner Double Diamond and Side kick bent shafts. I love the side kick with the extra surface area. If your paddle is better than the 2 werners I mentioned it must be one great paddle. I would love to test it.

Didn't say better, just that it was stiff... It still feels like an H20 and paddles like an H20 without the ergonomics and blade shapes of the Werners. Compare the flex of the fiberglass player to the flex of the double diamond - that same characteristic difference is present when comparing the H20 with the core paddle.
