Stinky Paddling Gear
Topic: Stinky Paddling Gear
Emotion:
Disgust
Explanation: There is nothing quite as repulsive or shocking as cracking open your paddling gear bag and getting hit in the face by the overpowering odor of stinky paddling gear. You might say to yourself: My paddling gear doesn't smell, so I have no clue what you are talking about, or I wash my gear regularly so its not an issue. Well I call BS! Polypro is one key piece of gear that seems to take on a life of its own, especially after being marinated in your juices under a waterproof outer layer, in my experience it never loses that smell after its worn a only a few times.
What about that neoprene that your forgot to dry from the last time you paddled? Its like a bad science experiment and the smell resembles your grandads tackle box in the garage. Nothing is as disgusting as having no choice but to put this stenchy gear on at the start of a river trip. Right now some of you are in denial, but much in the same way your own farts don't seem to be too bad, you can rest assured that those around you are gagging on your stinky paddling gear smell. It hits them twice as hard and you are accustomed to your own 'brand'. You may be thinking that this is just part of paddling, so suck it up princess. Try saying that next time your paddling partner unleashes his stinky paddling gear on you.

Re: Stinky Paddling Gear
Ya know what’s worse than stinky paddling gear!.....The Angry Paddler that’s what. How can someone that paddles be so unhappy with everything? Every paddler I know is just happy to be out on the water with their buddies having a good time, which makes me wonder if The Angry Paddler is really a paddler! .... My guess is that all his friends paddle and he’s just to scared to get out there and try it so he comes on here and rants about anything he can think of that will justify him not being a paddler.
P.S. I like the way my paddling gear stinks lol, lets me know im getting some good use out of it

Well even if he is a troll, I call him the devil's advocate. When I started paddling I was addicted to this forum like I am to facebook. I would constantly be checking for new content, reading everything. Things have changed since 4 years ago, there isn't much local chatter anymore.

Wash your gear in some "MiraZyme" sold at many paddling shops, scuba shops, and random outdoorsy kinda places.
