ALF 2012 - 10th - 18th March - Lenoir City, TN, USA

Postby cmnypny » Sat Feb 04, 2012 5:03 pm

For those that care this is an open boater / C1 festival down in TN during the Canadian March Break.

There are the few kayakers that do join us.

I have emailed out the preliminary contact information to those that have attended in the past.

For those that have never attended and wish to be on the contact list then PM me with your email address and I will add you to the list plus send you email for more info.

I am glad I am no longer the number one poster.

Hey Mr. Moneypenny.

Would you be able to name some of the rivers that are paddled the week of ALF? What class of of ww is there in TN? Is there a website people can view to see what Alf is about? If I give you a boat to bring down for me can you pick me up at the airport so I don`t have to drive?

Thanks Dude!

BTW, we miss your trip reports!

Class? Anything from class 2 - 5. What's running is very weather dependent - many of the harder rivers rise up during a rain and last for 1 or 2 days maximum, so predicting what is running is nearly impossible. Even within class 3 rivers, some are bolder gardens, others are huck fests, others high volume.

Some typical rivers: Tellico, Clear Creek, Little River, Pigeon, Little Pigeon, Treemont, Watauga, Daddy's Creek, Locust Fork, Elkmont, Citigo, Coker Creek, Caney Fork, French Broad, Ocoee. There are many more that have been run at ALF, but this gives you an idea.
