I thought it looked 'runnable' too, but I think it would need a lot more water to be 'safe'... I definitely won't be running it at any level!

If someone wanted to consider it seriously, they should see it when the river is at its peak flood levels... Higher than 6.6 for sure... From the historical, it looks like it typically lasts only 24-48 hours at those kinds of levels, but at those levels I bet the run after the falls would be just as intense as running a 100 footer! Might be a good idea to see it at low summer levels too, and make some chalk marks on the pool to find out how much additional depth there is when it's high.....

For people with the desire to run 100 footers, it's a real possibility.....

(I'm definitely not saying someone should go run it, and I'm definitely not saying it's safe! It's just a 'real possibility'... It could also be entirely terminal...)

I feel like I should add something:

I wrote the TR in a hurry, and I think I might've failed to convey the extent to which this was a group effort...

I think any one of us could've run it first for sure, but when I said I wanted to go, nobody asked about rock-paper-scissors... I did mention to everyone that I'd called Boydo the night before to ask him if it was ok to run it while he was in QC, so I guess it was up to me to offer, but once I'd decided for myself that it was runnable, I was pretty much a giant ball of energy itching to get in my boat... I wasn't calm enough to think of offering to go rock-paper-scissors...

Having four people also made it way easier to commit... I'm really glad it worked out the way it did, with Justin and Tyler showing up!

(The other thing I left out of the TR was the part about spending an hour on the phone with Yuro the night before trying to convince him to put his kayak on the roof, instead of going to the beach with his windsurfing\kiteboarding gear! )

Yuro, those pics looked awesome! and i think bobbie got all the important stuff in, props for dropping first. I know i was a little wobbly at the knees looking up at it. and thanks to bobbie and yuro for the invite and advice on the the lines at spencers... all things considered, an AMAZING day for planning on the fly the night before... and all the last minute changes heheheh. im still laughing at yuro's comment " that was freaking INCREDIBLE!!!" oboy. i cant wait till we have enough rain to do it again!!

P.S. the guy who was taking pics of us gave me these links... i checked them out and they are pretty sweet. i think he said if we wanted them to email him.

it wasn't for an hour... I wanted to take a look at the fall, I just didn't want to run Spencers after... but since wind didn't cooperate with me, I ended up spending whole day paddling... :)

You know what's awesome? Having a runnable 35 footer 30 minutes from your house. Come on rain!
